Marc Seager
Counsellor in Training
As a Counsellor in training, I have completed the majority of my training and now have the privilege of meeting with clients to offer counselling directly and build my experience as I complete my final year.
My core approach is Person Centred, and with this in mind my aim is to support clients with time and space to explore the things which have bought them to the counselling room, offering support to focus on their concerns and set clear goals. Creating a safe space where confidentiality and compassion are always present allows my clients to share as much as they want or need to. Developing trust is essential for my clients in being able to bring vulnerable feelings and experiences, and encourages focus on the issues that they wish to explore. Building meaningful relationships with clients allows space for self-awareness to grow and opportunity for clients to take steps in their chosen direction, empowering them to make any changes should they wish to I am supportive of using creative tools to offer clients opportunity to explore their emotions and within the counselling space, and I am enjoying learning new ways and tools for doing this within my training and group supervision time.
I work to the BACP framework and have regular supervision as part of my practice with a qualified supervisor within Lighthouse.
In my own time I take pleasure in tutoring in drums and percussion and enjoy spending time with my family. I am passionate about nature and take time to unwind with outdoor sports and activities as much as possible.
